Explanation of Data

AIDS Conclusion:
The results of the screening tests are evaluated and placed in one of three categories:

AIDS Screening Results EC₅₀:

NSC: the NCI internal ID number

HiConc: the highest concentration used in the dose response. Experiments with the same HiConc are averaged Flag when different experiments are averaged, the highest tested concentration is used for the value of EC50 in experiments that don't actually reach an EC50.
- A ">" in this field indicates that this happened in at least one of the experiments.
- A "=" indicates that all the experiments reached EC50.

EC50: concentration of compound that gives 50% protection of infected cells.

NumExp: number of experiments included in the average.

PANEL: panel name for the cell line
CELL: cell line name
PANELNBR: panel number of the cell line (see table)
CELLNBR: cell number of the cell line (see table)
NLOGTG: negative log of the TGI (concenctration where 100 x (T - T0)/(C - T0) = 0, Total Growth Inhibition)
NLOGLC50: negative log of the LC50 (50% Lethal Concentration)
NLOGGI50: negative log of the GI50 (concentration where 00 x (T - T0)/(C - T0) = 50, 50% Growth Inhibition)
INDN: number of tests for this NSC and cell line
TOTN: maximum number of tests for this NSC
